Bismarck, N.D. –The North Dakota Ethics Commission is pleased to announce that Commissioner Jared Huibregtse has been appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Commission. Mr. Huibregtse’s experience as a project manager and his work with the North Dakota Department of Water Resources provide him with a strong understanding of government operations, strategic planning and community‑focused decision making.
Mr. Huibregtse earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in 2011 and a Master of Science in Emergency Management in 2014, both from North Dakota State University. He later received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Mary in 2021. Mr. Huibregtse also completed more than 11 years of honorable service in the North Dakota Army National Guard, serving as a logistics officer and attaining the rank of Captain.
Mr. Huibregtse currently works as a Project Manager for Bartlett & West in Bismarck, where he oversees a wide range of technical and non‑technical responsibilities. His background also includes service with the North Dakota Department of Water Resources, and he remains active in several professional and community organizations, including the Missouri Slope United Way and the North Dakota Chapter of the American Water Works Association. He previously served as Treasurer for the National Guard Association of North Dakota.
Upon his appointment, Vice Chair Huibregtse stated, “I’m honored to serve as vice chair of the Ethics Commission. My service in public and private sector roles have taught me the value of accountability, transparency, and steady leadership. I’m committed to supporting the Commission’s work and helping ensure North Dakotans can have confidence in the integrity of their government.”
Chair Sharp added, “Mr. Huibregtse has been on the Commission since December, and he has shown leadership, initiative, and a dedication to our work. It is my privilege to announce his unanimous election to the position of Vice Chair of the Commission.”
