Bismarck N.D. - The North Dakota Ethics Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Pamela Sharp as its newest commissioner. Ms. Sharp brings a unique and valued perspective to the Commission based on her many years of public service. Pam will immediately begin serving a four-year term with the Commission, succeeding Commissioner Koeser, who did not seek reappointment.
Ms. Sharp is a native of Watford City, North Dakota. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Mary and then obtained her license as a Certified Public Accountant. In addition, Pam received a master’s degree in management from the University of Mary.
Ms. Sharp dedicated 32 years of her career to service at the State of North Dakota. Throughout that time, she served in several financial roles, including five years as the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget. For the last 15 years of her career in state government, she led the Office and Management and Budget as Director, working under three different administrations – Governor John Hoeven, Governor Jack Dalrymple, and Governor Doug Burgum.
After retiring from the State of North Dakota in 2018, Pam stayed involved in state government through her role as a lobbyist and consultant through 2023. Pam serves on the Governing Board as well as on the Foundation Board for Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. She lives in Bismarck and has four adult children and eight grandchildren.
Ms. Sharp’s dedication to the citizens of North Dakota is exemplified by her many years of public service in financial leadership roles. She brings invaluable leadership, governmental, and fiscal experience to the Commission. The Commission is excited to have Pam serve as its newest member.
Commissioners are appointed by consensus agreement of the governor, the majority leader of the senate, and the minority leader of the senate. The Commission wishes to thank Governor Armstrong, Majority Leader Hogue, and Minority Leader Hogan for appointing Ms. Sharp.
